"To love and serve our neighbors as ourselves."

Last month, people across the nation came together to support victims of flooding in the Gulf Coast and wildfires in California.

This generosity in the wake of these two tragedies that uprooted their communities is an inspiration for all. As Catholics, we are called upon to help those less fortunate, and these recent events demonstrate the powerful impact we can make when we work together.

While these national events are front and center, we want to remind you of what you can do right here in our local community. Though you may not know it, there are countless individuals and families who are struggling to put food on the table, wondering how they’ll pay for heat this winter, or teetering right on the verge of homelessness.

At Catholic Charities, we provide emergency financial assistance to people in their greatest time of need. Their reasons for requiring assistance vary, but can include loss of employment, the passing of a spouse, or an unexpected emergency expense. We also offer various support services to help families get back on their feet, such as counseling and temporary housing at the Martha & Mary House.

We invite you to join us in our commitment to serving our community. You can learn more about our services and how you can get involved HERE.
